Frequently asked questions

Bekijk hier de vragen die ik vaak krijg van mijn klanten. Staat je antwoord er niet tussen neem dan gerust even contact met mij op.

What are your rates?

For projects on a project basis, I work with a fixed price. Before I start, we’ll discuss the key points together, and once everything is clear, you’ll receive a quote from me for the agreed-upon work. This quote forms the basis for the final invoice, so you know exactly where you stand.

When we work on an hourly basis, I track my hours in 15-minute increments. At the end of each month, you’ll receive an invoice for the hours worked, complete with a detailed description.

In addition to project or hourly options, you can also choose an hourly bundle. Here, I track the work in 15-minute increments, and you’ll receive a detailed overview of the hours spent afterward. The hourly bundle is invoiced and paid upfront, so you always know exactly what to expect.

What is not included?

To keep things clear for everyone, plugin licenses for the website are arranged and paid for by the client. Fonts and stock image licenses are also purchased by the client. Additionally, external costs such as hosting are not included.

What are the turnaround times?

That depends on the scope of the project and how quickly the client can work and/or respond. We’ll discuss potential deadlines in advance, and I’ll create a schedule accordingly.

How can I be sure that I’ll like your designs?

I only begin the design process once I have a clear understanding of all input. During the briefing, we’ll discuss the desired style, your past experiences, and any preferences you may have. I then analyze what competitors are doing and identify ways we can set your brand apart.

Next, I’ll present an initial phase of my designs for the project, including typography, color palettes, imagery style, mockups, and more. After receiving your feedback, I’ll use this design as a foundation for further development.

How do you build a website?

The websites I build for my clients are always custom-made in WordPress. I develop them on a local development server that is only accessible to me. Once I have a first version ready, I set it up on a staging URL so you can watch the designs come to life. On the staging server, we ensure the website turns out exactly as we envisioned. After we have thoroughly tested the site and you approve, we’ll make this version live.

What are the benefits of a custom WordPress theme?

  1. Unique design that matches your brand
A custom template offers a unique design that fully aligns with your brand identity and look, unlike the generic appearance often found in standard themes.
  2. Better performance and speed
Custom templates are often more efficiently coded and include only the necessary features, improving loading speed. Standard themes often contain excess features that can slow down performance.
  3. SEO optimization
A custom theme can be optimized with the right SEO structure, from the code to the layout and tags, helping your site to be more easily found in search engines.
  4. Ease of use and flexibility
With a custom template, you can tailor the management and functionalities to your preferences and workflow, making it easier to adjust content without complex modifications.
  5. Security and support
Since a custom template is unique, it carries fewer security risks compared to popular themes that are widely used and, therefore, more vulnerable to hackers.
  6. Scalability for future updates
With a custom template, you have more control over the code, making future expansions and adjustments easier without relying on updates from external developers.

A custom WordPress theme is not only unique and tailored to your brand, but it also offers better performance, ease of use, security, and scalability for the future.
